The first animal I sculpted was my dog, Monkey, after she died many years ago. Since then I’ve ventured into more fantastical animals—strange magical combinations of animals or animals blended with humans—influenced, I’m sure, by the time I spend in Mexico, where the magical sits shoulder to shoulder with realism.
